They activate the emergency command from any point along the installed wire length and provide robust emergency stop protection for exposed conveyors and machines.
By pre-tensioning the wire with a tensioner/gripper mechanism that clamps the wire and attaches it to the switch eyebolts, the emergency stop switches are made operational. Viewing the tension indicator on the switch casing allows you to determine the proper tension. After tensioning, a blue reset button is used to return the switch contact blocks to their operating state (safety contacts closed, auxiliary contacts open).
The monitoring of wire-breakage is present on every grab wire safety switch. The safety contacts are positively opened and the auxiliary contacts are closed upon pulling or breaking (tension loss) of the wire. According to EN ISO 13850, the switches are physically latched and can only be reset to their operational state by pushing the reset button.
